Bush, Oil, and the plot to destroy my America while getting rich.

Bush, Oil
It’s amazing. I am speechless. Today is a new low for My America. I have just read and heard that the Democrats are responsible for oil’s sky high price. It is hard for me to even write the sentence without wanting to explode with the hypocracy. I keep looking on Drudgereport to see if Al Gore is being blamed by Osama for the proliferation of Madrassa’s. Does nobody understand the implications of drilling offshore and in Anwar. Let’s take away the environmental, tree hugger, global warming arguments and look at the facts. If drilling offshore or in Anwar were to get a green light as early as tomorrow, an impossibility, it would be years and years before any oil from these locations would hit the market. Furthermore, experts believe that these pipelines would reduce the cost of a gallon of oil by at most several pennies. Whooaaa, big %^&$ing deal.
Bush, oil
The only people who really want drilling to continue are the ones getting rich off it. Those groups are split into two camps. One camp lives in various desserts in the Middle East hiding from predator drones and the other camp lives in mansions right here in My America. That’s right, Washington/Dallas and any other enclave where the Haliburton/Republican/Chevron (Republiburton) people live/summer/drill. Isn’t it ironic.

Massive flooding, a taste of things to come? Ask Lil Wayne.

cedar rapids, Iowa
Of course it’s a taste to come. Bush has bitten off more than he can chew. Screw Osama, Bush has blown up, gouged, and drilled Mother Nature and now she’s pissed. Really pissed. Oil rigs off the coast? ANWAR? Can you say flooding? Katrina? Forest fires? I can’t blame Bush for all of My America’s problems, or can I? It seems to me that this administration’s sole priorities can be boiled down to two issues. War and Oil. The irony is that we go to war for oil and in so doing make the very countries whom we are fighting in the Middle East richer. Though they spend $500,000 a minute on the war, Bush and his cronies do not want to spend a dime making investments in alternative energy. In hindsight, the cost that this has on our environment will be the gravest error of the Republican Administration. Fortunately Bush is almost done, out, gone forever. Lil Wayne wrote a diddy for Bush I thought you might enjoy:

America (Rome) is burning. Are those matches in your hand Mr. President?

Bush
I know all those crazy liberals have been talking about global warming for years now. Heck, Al Gore has reinvented himself as Mr. Green running hell bent around the globe preaching about the polar ice caps and the French Alps and some island that is sinking and all fifty inhabitants that have to move. They talk about some Spanish wind, something like El Nina. What’s the big deal if a couple of hot days are just a little hotter? Who cares if some coral turns white? Do I really care if some spitting frog goes extinct?
Here in Crawford, there’s only two things that matter. The price of beef and oil. I don’t give bull’s balls if some atoll in Indonesia or God knows where begins to sink a couple of inches. Look at Venice, it’s still there. I don’t hear Gore or Michael Moore talking about Venice sinking. As far as I am concerned, if it doesn’t affect the US of A, then it doesn’t affect Texas. And if it doesn’t affect Texas, then it doesn’t affect me.
Mr. President, Rome is burning and you appear to have matches in your hand.
Fire
Massive evacuations ordered in California.
The evidence is overwhelming.

Drought
Has it ever been this dry in the South East?

Bush has done everything in his power to promote big business (his friends) and in so doing lay the groundwork for destroying the environment. When will he/they learn?

From Thinkprogress.org:

Bush’s EPA Nominee Has Relaxed Rules For Polluters, Weakened Clean Air Legislation
William Wehrum, President Bush’s nominee to head the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation (OAR), has earned a reputation in Washington as “the behind-the-scenes architect” of some of the Bush administration’s most controversial initiatives. Some lowlights:

– Wehrum was a lead author of Bush’s “Clear Skies” legislation, which would have loosened emissions caps on dangerous airborne toxins.

– In 2002, while serving as OAR’s general counsel, Wehrum shepherded through a rule written by forest products industry lobbyists that relaxed the emission standards for formaldehyde. Wehrum had previously represented those same timber interests as a lobbyist.

– In 2004, Wehrum implemented new industry-friendly mercury guidelines that substantially weakened the Clean Air Act. Again, Wehrum’s former lobbying firm played an instrumental role in drafting the rule.

– Just this week, a draft of a new air pollution rule, drafted under the oversight of Wehrum, came under fire from congressional leaders. The proposal would allow polluters to discharge thousands of pounds of airborne toxins while “virtually avoiding regulation.“

“There are some monuments where the land is so widespread, they just encompass as much as possible. And the integral part of the – the precious part, so to speak, I guess all land is precious – but the part that the people uniformly would not want to spoil, will not be despoiled. But there are parts of the monument lands where we can explore without affecting the overall environment.”
— George Bush, March 13, 2001

Is the Iraqi embassy more fortified than my America? A billion dollars later.

Iraq embassy

Documents obtained by the Oversight Committee depict widespread defects in fire detection systems, fire service mains, fire sprinklers, fire-proof construction materials, and electrical wiring throughout the Embassy complex. Other documents implicate the Managing Partner of First Kuwaiti, the prime contractor, in an illegal kickback scheme to obtain subcontracts under the Army’s multi-billion logistical support contract.

Sounds like all the other news coming out of Iraq. This complex is over 100 acres (larger than the vatican), almost ten times the size of a normal embassy. More striking is its price tag. At more than a billion dollars and growing more expensive every day. Oddly, or with this administration obviously, a Kuwaiti firm won the construction deal despite very competing bids from US contractors. Read about this here. This colossal beast is emblematic of the ongoing disaster in Iraq and you can read an interesting article here about why this, like the war, is destined to fail from the start.

Everything surrounding this massive, super secret compound has been shrouded in secrecy. Diplomats were even instructed not to mention the location of the new embassy. (The fifty cranes along the banks of the Tigris might have given that one away) I wonder what the reaction was when the computer-generated projections of the heavily fortified compound were posted here on the Web several months ago.

Quote for today:
“I heard somebody say, ‘Where’s Mandela?’ Well, Mandela’s dead. Because Saddam killed all the Mandelas.” –George W. Bush, on the former South African president, who is still very much alive, Washington, D.C., Sept. 20, 2007

Breaking News in My America. Do Republicans have any morals?

Larry Craig

“Nothing in the petition even hints at a lack of guilt of the offense of disorderly conduct. Nothing in the record supports, in any way, a contention by the defendant, that in any of his dealings with (Prosecutor Christopher) Renz or with the court, he denied his guilt.” – Excerpts from Hennepin County Judge Charles Porter’s ruling on Thursday.

“I have seen that it is possible for me to work here (the Senate) effectively,” Craig said in a written statement today despite the fact that a judge ruled that he could not rescind his guilty plea in a men’s room sex sting.

Read news article here.

Read my original post on Craig and see the video of him in 1982.

The Council for National Policy is hiding my America.

Thompson, Republican
Update #1 – Cheney goes on secret ultra conservative mission.
In following with the creepy theme, I thought I would send you some highlights of a group meeting secretly on my America’s soil since 1981.

Membership is by invitation only.
Members are instructed not to refer to the organization by name.
Members are powerful figures, from the Religious Right and the anti-government, anti-tax wing of the ultra-conservative movement.
It’s membership list reads like a who’s who of the Republican right and many of their speakers and members are linked to Bushie.
Some have called this group the most elite and powerful collection of Republican leaders in the country.
According to this article, “In addition to obsessing over communist threats and buttressing white supremacist ideology, the CNP has included many members bent on replacing American democracy with theocracy.”
Go to their website here and read about this “club” and their plans for my America. Be prepared to be scared.
Why Thompson’s picture? Well, he is running for President and happened to give the council’s keynote speech this Spring. Read it here.
Here is a list of past members.

Blackwater turns streets red for my America.

Iraq bomb
Update #1 9/22/07- This is going to come back to haunt Bush. Blackwater targeted by Feds.
Update #2 9/23/07- Criminal charges?

I am just going to link to the Blackwater story here. It is your patriotic duty to know what is going on over there, so read it. It amazes me how many civilians we continue to gun down in the name of Democracy. Today Bush said that the MoveOn ad about Petraeus was disgusting. No Mr. President, what is happening in Iraq is disgusting. You seem to live in some sort of distorted and deranged dream world. Please wake up before it is too late for my America and stop having your puppets regurgitate the same lies that you make.
Please take a little time to watch this very interesting video catching Bush’s spokesmen in their lies.

Learn about Blackrock in this next video. Very, very scary. Some interesting tidbits in this video including how the founder of Blackrock is a right wing, Christian, conservative (surprise!!!) who once interned for Bush and now is a big money contributer. Earnings for Blackrock in 2001 were a measly $200,000. As of last year, hundreds of millions of dollars were syphoned to Blackrock. How many scandals lurk in this white house? Bring back Monica. I would rather have a President getting off in the Oval Office than a President getting off on our country imploding. It’s almost as if he enjoys it.
Be sure to pay careful attention to the last two minutes of this video when Bush is questioned about military privatization.

“I’m honored to shake the hand of a brave Iraqi citizen who had his hand cut off by Saddam Hussein.”-Bush-Washington, DC, May 25, 2004.

Burning Bush part deux in my America.

Dopey Bush
For all intents and purposes, Bush is the CEO of the most powerful company in the world. The United States remains the most influential and financially superior country on the planet, albeit our status is weakening. If the US really was a company, our falling share price, consumer complaints, dwindling market share, our overall corporate neglect, would have created a mutiny not seen since Enron. Nobody likes Bush.
Well maybe this guy does.
Bush supporter
Worth a thousand words.
Anyway, Bush should be fired. Viewed from an outside perspective, the scenario that Bush/republicans have created in my America is almost laughable. But when you actually live hear, when you have to gas up your car, buy groceries, try to sell your house, etc. it is no longer so funny. At some point the pit in my stomach begins to burn and I wonder why we in America are so complacent. Where is the anger? Where is the accountability? I suggest that Bush, a man who seems to think that God has engineered his life and thus can do no wrong, have a little conversation with the man upstairs. If my America is lucky, a bolt of lightning from on high may indeed bring about a simmering Biblical justification. Burning Bush part deux. Perhaps some heat induced moment of clarity will reignite some of the remaining brain cells in el Presidente’s kopf. If this works, and he does what is right for the country, let’s all stand up and chear his corporate resignation. This really is the only way I can think to save my America. (tear falls down cheek)

Greenspan drills Bush in my America.

Greenspan
Just a little weekend surprise. I wasn’t going to write this weekend, been busy on a script, but this is too good. After driving down interest rates to impossibly low levels and thus imploding our real estate market for the long term, Greenspan has decided to come clean about what really fueled some of the idiotic financial and more importantly foreign policy decisions during his tenure, focusing on the Iraq war. Because I am attempting to be brief I will highlight what he claims to be the driving force behind some of the most significant policy decisions made by the Bush administration. Unbelievably, but predictably, it can be summed up in one word, OIL. More here.

Could a dog help me find my America?

Dog
This dog is now wealthier than 99.9% of every individual on earth. I have been thinking about getting a dog for some time. Not a little one like “Trouble” that sits in your lap and you bring shopping, but one to help me find my America. Based on the success they have had hunting down Osama, I called our military. Maybe they could recommend a particular bloodhound or something. I spoke with a very nice Corporal stationed in Tora Bora. I explained my situation and he said they just happened to have an extra hound, named Drifter. Incredibly, he said he could send Drifter to me using Halliburton’s Rapid Canine Response Mail Delivery System, code named (by Rove) “Jackrabbit” for $126,892.43. I thanked him anyway, said that I appreciated his service for my America, and went to the local pound.

Lost & unaccounted for in Iraq – $9 billion of US taxpayers’ money and $549.7 milion in spare parts shipped in 2004 to US contractors.*

Halliburton overcharges classified by the Pentagon as unreasonable and unsupported – $1.4 billion.*

Portion of the $20 billion paid to KBR that Pentagon auditors deem “questionable or supportable” – $3.2 billion.*

Sometimes, Father knows best:

“Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations’ mandate,
would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped
to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be
an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land.” – George H.W. Bush (Bush senior) and Brent Scowcroft in their 1998 book, A World Transformed.
